Nearly 300,000 passengers have traveled with United Airlines to and from Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) over the past year, an increase of 25% compared to the same period last year, making United the fastest-growing airline at HIA.
United’s impressive growth is driven by the addition of more daily flights to Washington Dulles International Airport and the use of larger, more comfortable aircraft on flights to Chicago.
Beginning May 27, United will increase service to Washington Dulles from three to four daily flights. Total seats available between May 1 and July 31 are up 4% compared to last year.
Chicago service continues with four daily departures, including larger mainline Airbus and Boeing aircraft on morning and evening flights, along with two regional jet departures during midday hours. Total seats available to Chicago between May 1 and July 31 are up 28% versus the same period last year.
The most popular United destinations from Harrisburg include Chicago, Denver, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Portland, Seattle, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Phoenix.
Top international destinations served through United’s network include Toronto, Tokyo, Vancouver, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Calgary, and San Juan.
The expansion of United Airlines service at HIA represents more than just additional flights — it provides greater travel opportunities for residents, businesses, and visitors throughout the region. With improved connectivity and expanded flight options, travelers across Central Pennsylvania now have more convenient access to destinations throughout the United States and around the world.
