HIA Airport Drive Detour in Effect December 1–19

Beginning December 1, 2025, roadway maintenance will require temporarily closing the connector off-ramp leading from the Airport Connector to Airport Drive. During this time, all traffic will follow a posted detour route around the work zone.
The project is expected to last through December 19, 2025.

Minimal Impact for Terminal Access

Most travelers using Terminal Drive for flights, pick-ups, and drop-offs will experience little to no delay. Terminal access remains open, and traffic flow should remain normal.

That said, we recommend arriving about 5 minutes earlier than usual, just to allow for the temporary routing near the airport entrance.

Who Is Most Affected

The detour mainly impacts:

  • Most travelers using Terminal Drive for passenger arrivals and departures will not experience delays. However, please allow about 5 extra minutes if you are accessing:
  • Long-Term Parking
  • Air Cargo facilities
  • Air National Guard
  • Building 513 and nearby tenant facilities
  • Parking in front of Building 513 will be restricted for safety during construction.

Long-Term Parking will remain fully open, with regular shuttle service unaffected. As always, we recommend arriving at the Long-Term Parking lot 2 hours before your scheduled flight departure.

Why the Work Is Needed

The closure supports necessary maintenance to the concrete roadway. These improvements will enhance roadway safety and durability as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades across the airport campus.
