More Flights, More Destinations, More Often: Harrisburg International Airport Continues to Soar!

Harrisburg International Airport (HIA) is taking off like never before! With more flights to more places, more often, an increasing number of travelers are choosing the convenience of HIA over the hassle of long drives to other airports.

The numbers speak for themselves—HIA welcomed 107,770 passengers in February 2025, marking a 10.7% increase compared to the same month in 2024. Over the past twelve months (March 2024 – February 2025), 1,468,723 travelers passed through the airport—an impressive 11.1% jump from the previous year.

What’s Driving This Growth?

According to Timothy J. Edwards, Executive Director of HIA, the growth is fueled by strong demand from Central Pennsylvania travelers. “Our airline partners are expanding flight options due to the tremendous support of the region,” said Edwards. Over the past year, available departing seats for sale increased by 11%, allowing more passengers to fly conveniently from HIA instead of driving hours to other airports.

And the trend isn’t slowing down! Looking ahead to April, May, and June, airlines at HIA are set to increase seat capacity by 16.1% compared to last year. All five airlines at HIA are expanding, with notable growth led by:

  • Frontier – 124% increase
  • Allegiant – 28% increase
  • United – 18% increase
  • Delta – 11% increase
  • American – 5% increase
